Week 1, Post trial

[It's late. Not too late to be out, but late enough that the campfire party has dispersed.

Gonta's not sure how to think of Red. On one hand, she did hate Dan and this situation. On the other hand...

She said she had to do it, though. But why.

Here, Gonta gently knocks on the door.]

... Red? You awake?

[backspacing]

[Congrats Gonta, you're the first to get a peek at the inside of her room!

Or, well, the front half of her room. There is a folding screen up that separates the room in two, and Gonta won't be able to see beyond that. It's a safe assumption that her sleeping area is over there, though.

On this side of the screen, her room is very sparse. There is a table with a computer and a chair at it, as well as a futon that is currently folded up into couch form. On one wall is a locked cabinet hanging on the wall, and below that is a mini-fridge. On the other is another door, one that looks like it might lead to a closet.

When Red speaks, it is with a gentle voice. She is not acknowledging anything that happened today, not unless asked about it.]

Yes? Did you need something?

[Gonta's not gonna go snooping around in her room. He's a gentleman, not a thief!

He does nervously press his index fingers together. He's not sure if he should look her in the eyes right now (and that's hard to do when you're the tallest kid in camp.)]

A few somethings, really...

One, can Gonta help with camp store Monday? Gonta feel bad for waking up Stan yesterday.

[It's clear Stan's not in the right mind to process murder and Gonta wants to make up for causing a scene he couldn't resolve.]

[Poor big kid, being all nervous.]

Oh? What did you want to do in the store?

[It's not a no, she's just curious.]

Gonta really tall and strong... Maybe help stock shelves?

It depends on what you are talking about. I do like spending time with the campers here, for example, but I don't think that's what you mean.

... No, it not... But Gonta happy to hear Red likes talking to campers.

[Gonta is such a good boy.]

It's why I stay here, despite what my job demands of me. You all deserve to have someone here who will at least try to make things a little better.
