[They've been here a couple of days, but it feels like years on end.

Lenka's been seeing a little of Red here and there, for the most part when he drops by for his daily dose of bandages, but they haven't exchanged all that many words yet. Today, though -- once the bandaging business is done, he has a question. Or a whole lot of questions, but they have to start somewhere. His posture is slumped, same as everyone else these days, fever and exhaustion and everything else weighing it down -- but he still meets her eyes.]

I need to know what you know about the hunters in the forest.

Hunters are very common in Michigan, especially in the upper peninsula. Due to how remote this place is, many people have to hunt to have food to survive. Also there are quite a few dangerous animals out there- moose, for example- and gun ownership is considered a requirement for survival if you live outside of a city.

Friday (Post-Investigation)

[So, uh. He's overdue for his daily bandage pickup and all, but what happens if Lenka shows up to it with Soma in tow?

He hasn't bothered to wash the blood off; he'd only get more of it anyway, and he can wash up once he changes his bandages. His shoulders are squared, posture firm now that sickness isn't twisting and bowing it -- though he's honestly pretty bedraggled from everything that happened today. But he wants answers. He needs answers, and he... doesn't know who else to ask.]

Week 1, Post trial

[It's late. Not too late to be out, but late enough that the campfire party has dispersed.

Gonta's not sure how to think of Red. On one hand, she did hate Dan and this situation. On the other hand...

She said she had to do it, though. But why.

Here, Gonta gently knocks on the door.]

Or, well, the front half of her room. There is a folding screen up that separates the room in two, and Gonta won't be able to see beyond that. It's a safe assumption that her sleeping area is over there, though.

On this side of the screen, her room is very sparse. There is a table with a computer and a chair at it, as well as a futon that is currently folded up into couch form. On one wall is a locked cabinet hanging on the wall, and below that is a mini-fridge. On the other is another door, one that looks like it might lead to a closet.

When Red speaks, it is with a gentle voice. She is not acknowledging anything that happened today, not unless asked about it.]

[Somehow, he's back here.

Lenka has his God Arc back, and he's back to not ever letting the thing out of his sight and perhaps not even out of reaching distance, but he doesn't move to wield or point it when he comes to see Red. He already knows it's futile, even if... even if coming to see her might not be the smartest thing in the first place.

Their one-on-one interactions have been relatively businesslike or at least matter-of-fact before, but now it's... He'd thought Stan was hard to reconcile, with what seemed to be a crack down the middle of how he dealt with anything seemingly unusual. But Red might be even more so, in her own way.

He doesn't know what to do. Is she an enemy? What can he even do if she is?]

... I don't understand. Lillith didn't deserve that. She didn't.

[And Red still did it anyway. And she sounds completely unapologetic about it.

...well, maybe not unapologetic. Empty might be a better way to describe her words. Empty of emotion, of personalty. Like she's distancing herself from what happened yesterday.]

[So Shirou's been kind of unwilling to approach the counselors to begin with. That goes double for Red after the trial and execution. But with Lillith back, and with the question burning in his mind...]

[He takes a seat and stays there for a little while, staring down at his hands. It's been a rough week all around. He has no idea what Red thinks of most of it; it feels like he hasn't seen her in eons, even if she was only away over the weekend. The last weekend seems very far away.

It always does, but...]

Wednesday, week 5

[Well, Red's not answering her door when he knocks. Which is fine, because honestly he's not even sure he wouldn't just explode again if he talked to her.

So he just slips a note under the door.]

Sorry about yesterday. I shouldn't have lost my temper like that when we're all supposed to be working for the same goal.

I don't think I can kill anyone, but I'll probably be killed this week anyway. Hopefully the delay will help.

[So yesterday was a thing. Ren comes a-knocking with something that smells really good- maybe an apology for hijinks]

[By now he'd really like to sleep the rest of the week, but unfortunately there's still things that need doing, which is why Red will find a familiar smol looking for her today.]

[So some time after the execution, Shirou's coming to knock on Red's door. If she doesn't answer, he'll just slink off to cook grief-cook in the kitchen.]

Post week 5 trial, Stan can come too if he wants Ren is just Here

[Once he has stopped screaming. Once he can get away from Ichigo and Mitsuru, Ren just ends up outside the doors of the counselors. He can't bring himself to knock, he just curls up outside]

[Today, the knock is accompanied by a familiar spicy scent, as well as a voice calling through the door.]

Also she's definitely rolling back on her decision not to talk to Shirou anymore. Try again another day and she'll probably answer.]
