Not quite as nosy as me, but still nosy.

Dan knew a lot about us too.

Dan was nosy, but he didn't have good intentions for the information he found. If he hadn't died, he was going to use it against all of you.

That doesn't surprise me. He was already taunting people with it. Making us all paranoid. Creeping at windows. No one is exactly crying over him.

But you know you're not really giving us reason to think you're going to use it for anything better.

You can think what you want. I didn't go into this job expecting to make friends.

[And yet she still wears that worn friendship bracelet on her hand. And if Ren looks very closely, he can see the tops of childish drawings sticking up on the other side of the folding screen, taped to her wall like they're works of art.]

Maybe... but I think the best friends are the ones you don't expect.
