[She's actually back at her room so STEP INTO HER OFFICE MITSURU!

Or, well. Half-room, half-office. There is a folding screen up that separates the room in two, and Mitsuru won't be able to see beyond that, but it's safe to assume there's sleeping quarters back there

On this side of the screen, her room is very sparse. There is a table with a computer and a chair at it, as well as a futon that is currently folded up into couch form. On one wall is a locked cabinet hanging on the wall, and below that is a mini-fridge. On the other is another door, one that looks like it might lead to a closet.

Red is currently seated in her computer chair, though she has locked the screen so that Mitsuru can't see what she was doing. Her lock screen picture if of a city skyline which probably does not look familiar to Mitsuru.]

Yes, it has to be me.

Did you need something, Mitsuru?

I just wanted to see if there's anything else you could tell me now that you've revealed your true role here.

[Blunt as always.]

[Just a normal closet. A fancy lady needs a place for her fancy clothes, after all.

She says the following wryly:]

Let's put it this way: can you imagine what it would be like if a man like Pastor Dan was the Facilitator?

Not especially. [Because he hadn't.] But if Dan wasn't the Facilitator, what was his role?

Annoying old prat who wouldn't leave the camp.

[That is muttered in annoyance. Then she gives a real answer.]

He was more of a counselor. Just...very religious. I can't keep track of all of you on my own, so there are usually 2 or 3 other counselors to help me.

[Hmmmm yeah that sounds kind of fake.]

That is an interesting theory, if a bit difficult to believe.

[Despite her words, Red is nodding her head.]

...It seemed strange. They said something about roots.

I wonder if those stones appear in everyone who dies here?

Who was Facilitator before you?

[backspacing]

A very unpleasant man, one who decided that the best way to run camp was to be cruel to the kids and scare them into attacking each other. He didn't like being here either, but he preferred to end camp as quickly as possible so he could go home.

[So yeah, no survivors back then.]

Is there something keeping you in place as long as we're here?

Just the fact that I want to stay here. I could leave at any time.

Last time you asked me if I was stuck here, and I said 'technically no'. Now you know what the technically means: I could leave, but I don't want to leave.

I asked you if you enjoy being here.

I enjoy spending time with the campers and doing camp activities with them.

You can guess the parts I do not enjoy.

Then why do you enforce it if you don't like it?

Because I have to. There's rules I have to follow.

Does spending time with campers really outweigh killing them for you?

[backspacing]

Yes.

I can't fix everything. I can't make it all right. But at least I can make things a bit better for those who die here, in the time before their deaths.

I don't trust anyone else to not be cruel to the campers.
